City College felt like a way out of the dark and rough streets of the city. It felt like this was a place where you were able to meet common people with goals of achieving greatness in life. Being a city-wide school this place allowed you to connect with people from all over the city's northside, southside, eastside, and westside. Here it wasn't about your particular side of town where you grew up because everyone connected with people who were different from them and were residents outside of their personal neighborhood. Many of us came from rough, crime and drug infested neighborhood blocks. City College allowed us to see far beyond those tough neighborhoods and feed our vision for a better future.
"Oh My City" we're crying out/ Yes my city is filled with doubt/ Oh My City no hope around/ So My "CITY" is my way out"!
